NEW THOUGHT VERMONT LEADERS
Meet the Board of Trustees of New Thought Vermont
Peter Miller
MA, CAS, D.D. (Hon.), Board Member
Peter Miller is the cofounder of New Thought Vermont, and was cofounder and leader of the Unity of the Light Church in Loveland, Colorado. He has been a frequent speaker in those states and elsewhere. Peter was also the founding director of SoulStar, a spiritual development organization in Yarmouth, Massachusetts.
He pursued training at the Unity Institute in Missouri and further studies through the Divine Science School based in Washington, DC. He was ordained as a Divine Science minister in 2007, subsequently completing a post-graduate Certificate of Advanced Study through the Graduate Theology and Pastoral Ministry Program at Saint Michael’s College, Vermont. He served as Board Secretary for the Divine Science Federation International and chaired two biennial conferences.
Peter continues his life-long love of music and the arts. He retired in 2016 as the orchestra director and fine arts supervisor for the Rutland (Vermont) Public Schools. Shortly thereafter, he initiated the Castleton University String Orchestra, and continues in that role in addition to teaching violin, viola and string education classes. He believes that through creative discovery, shared expression, and mindful connection, we can support each other in personal growth and evolving community. In addition to formalized meditation/mindfulness/consciousness practice, he enjoys finding the wonder of the present moment in each circumstance.
